IAST#184: Waybop
Hearty Waybop
I then went to work on this:
Waybop too!
dip pen and ink on a watercolor tile
Zentangle HQ also published a hearty version which I explored next, resulting in the featured tile above, so I was ahead of the game (yaaay!) when Adele's IAST challenge appeared;-)
I have to give myself props for not only doing hearts after Valentines day, but for doing hearts at all;-)
Exploring new patterns in my sketchbook
I've been setting up these pages in my journal so I can immediately introduce new patterns into my repertoire and then have them on hand when I'm out-and-about and needing inspiration.
This is my current working page
Neuron and Flowerly are currently featured on Square One: Purely Zentangle. I was inspired by the tile Ragged Ray submitted, hence my interpretation of her Neuron in the left corner (it's cut off in the pic but I will note the source if I'm directly inspired by someone else's work).
A Travelling Tangle:
Anne's starter
Anne and I are both working through exercises from the Zentangle Primer, prompted by the Facebook group Tangled and Journaled Too! I don't have the book, so I just follow along with posts by others and see if I can figure it out. It's fun to get back to basics.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Your thoughtful and generous comments delight and inspire me;-)
Good to know my Neuron inspired you. Your sketchbook pages are a work of art in themselves. It's reminded me I haven't shared one of mine in a while. But for now I need to get my Waybop in order!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jem! I love your Neuron-your work is always an inspiration;-)
DeleteLovely work in the sketchbook and gorgeous Waybo, my favorite is the second, wow I love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ria! I always forget how much I enjoy the dip pen and ink.
DeleteYour Waybop tiles are amazing! Happy weekend to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Simone! Waybop is really an addicting pattern to play with;-)
DeleteI love these "hearty" waybops! fun stuff. And a great finish to Anne's tile...love the old basics.
ReplyDeleteand thanks for sharing your journal pages, too. Those are really fun to look at.
DeleteThanks Heidi! The back to basics approach is really refreshing and it's always good to focus on contrast rather than color from time to time. I've repeated this frequently here but one of my grad school art teachers used to always say "Contrast equals interest". So true.
