Diva Challenge # 315, Made by Joey #164 and some Travelling Tangles

Molygon Study

This week's challenge was to get to know "Molygon", inspired by a recent Kitchen Table Tangles video from HQ. I don't have the bandwidth for the Mosaic subscription so I've not seen it. I missed the first part of Laura's stream Sunday night, but as I watched, it started to make more sense, though I have to admit I let out an audible groan when I initially saw what the challenge was. I have the same issues with Molygon as I do with Tripoli. I love how it looks when it's done well, but I avoid it.
It wasn't required that this be a monotangle but as I continued drawing I didn't know how to stop. It's actually quite a relaxing pattern to draw, so I just kept going.

I got a few Travelling Tangles done this week.
One of my recent blog posts resulted in a swap with Joey van Oort. She had a few spares from the April group swap which was "Sky" inspired. My selection of colored pens is very sparse so I always have to figure out a way to introduce black whenever I get a starter using colored pens. Apologies for the weird colors happening in these pics.

    I thought I was the only one who avoided some tangles. I'm following Eni Oken's new book about organizing your tangles, which for me is to find the ones I avoid, practice them, and then put the step outs in a notebook. I love your current tangles! The blues are so pretty! Hang in there, Michelle!

    I feared I would be the only one with a different S-string for the letter challenge. Thanks, Michele, your tile is beautiful. I love your 6" ZIA (well, who wouldn't??!!) and the delicate Molygon. I am sure Joey is proud the way you finished her TTs. All in all a very beautiful blog again, Michele.

      Thanks Susie! I'm trying to keep my "font" style somewhat consistent throughout​ this series so my letters rarely match the string. I'm a rebel like that😉

    I'm exactly the same with Molygon - but have been encouraging myself to work with it this week and I think we're becoming friends.

    I love your ATCs - I really need to look into the Reticula and Fragments scene - some of those are stunning.

      Thanks Jem! I've seen enough inspiring results of Molygon that I know if I keep at it, there's room in my arsenal for it😉 Those ATC's we're a challenge to finish. I liked the idea at the start, but it grew tedious.

    I am with you on the molygon, it will never be one of my mac and chesse tangles! Lovely tile though and I love the Zia! the traveling tangles are so fun to see the starts and then your beautiful finishes. Everyone is going to love getting your swap tiles too!

    All so very beautiful! Like you I don't like Molygon very much or Tripoli. Well, 'like' is nog correct, I am just not very good with them :-(

      Thank you Annemarie! I'm now very grateful for this challenge because as Laura said, we tend to try tangle once and if it doesn't "click" right away we move on. I've been trying to stay with patterns that I've seen others do well yet vex me:-)
