Journals to the People: “Josephine”

Josephine is one of my mixed media soft cover journals approximately 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”. This is getting ready to mail off to consignment at Nevermore Creations 17.

It's an eclectic journal. No theme, just stuff I like.

The food imagery is from "A Year at Chez Panisse", a very popular local restaurant.

Several digital collections were used.

Journals to the People: The Big Owl Book

This is another "Outta my comfort zone" journal. It's huge. For me. This started off as part of a stash busting binge where I made a bunch of naked journals with a thought toward them becoming glue books (where you ultimately glue in a bunch of your favorite images, quotes, clippings, photos etc).
I had decoupaged the cover with napkins and then stowed it away.
Then came the owls, then the Fast Flow Stitching tutorials that started floating around the YouTube…and I remembered the book stashed in my closet.
The original preparation of the book also included signatures using over- sized papers like wallpaper and wrapping paper.
Then came all of this…

I love these owls!

There's a naked journal that's removable.
It's a bit over- stuffed.

It Had to be Done

This is the start of a new journal project...terribly out of my comfort zone. Long, long ago, in the very early days of Covid lockdowns, I bought this Graphic 45 paper pack online for the only reason was that it was on sale...a glass or two of wine may have been involved.
Graphic 45 never  ceases to vex me. I find the papers interesting but very difficult to use, mostly because I find the colors somewhat garish and difficult to coordinate with anything else in my stash.
I also don't particularly gel with fairies.
Yet, here we are. I had to go at it with distress oxide inks and coffee.

Fairy Journal

I've been seeing quite a lot of fairy journals shared on the You Tube in the past months. This has never really been a theme I've ever felt inclined to explore, but for whatever reason, I bought a Graphic 45 paper pack last year. It had to have been on sale somewhere. There may have been wine involved.

This cover was inspired by a video I watched on Tracie Fox’s channel. It’s called fast flow stitching.

I really enjoyed this.
