Diva Challenge #329 and Joey's Challenge #178

Guest Blogger Marguerite Samama
Fragment D-1
Additionally: Abukas, Crescent Moon Knightsbridge, Striping and Florz

It's nice to see Marguerite as this week's guest blogger. We had a lovely Travelling Tangles exchange awhile back and it was nice getting to know her a little bit in her intro to this week's challenge...and what a challenge.
Fragments again...they pop up every where it seems.. I wish I was better at using them more creatively. It'll be good to see what everyone comes up with for this one. Thank goodness it wasn't a monotangle challenge. I used it with Abukas, a new pattern by Charlotte Carpentier of Charkat's Creative Insanity. It's a tangleation of Arukas and Abundies. The tile is a bit dark but that's how we're gonna roll for a bit;-)

Made by Joey  Joey's Weekly Tangle Challenge #178
9 piece ensemble
#1 Featuring: " African Artist"
Additionally: Striping, Flux, Florz & Tipple

Joey's back from her hiatus...boy, 6 weeks passed so quickly! She's got a new blog and a new series to challenge us with. We're to take 9 tiles and create a string through them to create an ensemble.
I just made a new set of ATC's using art tissue coloring. I have to say that I'm not all that crazy about the colors but it is what it is and we'll see how it goes 😉

Here's the set up

Here are a couple of  ZIA's I've been working on using my Eco-printed paper:

Thanks so much for stopping by! Your thoughtful and generous comments delight and inspire me;-)

  1. Oh I like your tiles Michele! I'm a bit nervous about Joey's Challenge I think I might do what you did and try some colour first.

  3. Really nice work, Michelle. I like the idea for the Joey challenge. I've never done that one. I bought some tissue paper at the Dollar Store to try that technique for color. If I mess up, I'll be happy I bought it at the Dollar Store. 😉

  5. If we could measure the length of all your strokes on this page's tiles, I am sure we'd have a round trip to the moon and back. I really dig those 2 Zentangle inspired art tiles! Great stuff, Michele.

  6. These are all so rich and varied. Those eyes peeking out on the last tile! wow! That one is like a pile of butterflies, and the next one up...like an under water scene from the Great Barrier Reef. All of them are just stunning.

  8. Very, very beautiful all of them! I wonder how you get the 'eco dye'colors so bright. I can only bring some pastel in my tiles.

    1. Thank you Annemarie! The paper itself is pretty muted, I use colored pencil with the marker blender to enhance and blend colors 😉

  10. Absolutely stunning, very nice first tile for Joey and also for the diva but the stars of the week are the Zia's with the spectacular colours. I can see on Aimee's face, she agrees with me!

  11. You have such a wonderful color sense. Those rich dark colors really appeal to me, and the tangles look right at home. The brighter ones will be quite different coming from you, so it will be fun to see how they turn out. Hello and hugs to Aimee!

    1. Thanks Joey! What an inspiring series you've tasked us with💞 I'm not sure how many masks I'll do. I have several 5 x 7 eco-dyed sheets left and there are at least 2 where I can "see" a mask in there somewhere 😉
