I managed to get an early shot at a couple of challenges this week. I've got a lot going on in the next several days so I figured it was now or never so I kept it pretty simple. I just created a couple of new sets of watercolor ATC's for an upcoming swap celebrating Spring. I messed up on one of the strips as I cut them down and ended up with 4 cards that were 1/4" short on the length so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to use them.
The Diva challenge is to use the pattern "Fassett". I've had problems with this pattern in the past because I made the mistake of working too small. This worked out pretty great.
Roman Numeral String Series: VII
Patterns: Queen's Crown, Nipa, Gotcha & Zails
Joey's challenge provided the string and 4 patterns that we were asked to use at least one. HA! Well I always challenge myself to use them all, for better or worse. I'm not super crazy about this one...it got a little overworked but that's how I roll;-)
As ever, thanks so much for visiting my blog. Your thoughtful and generous comments always make my day!
The Diva tile just draws your eye into the center. Beautifully done. Sarah.
ReplyDeleteYour Fassett tile is wonderful. I always liked how you could make the tangle look like flowers. Very Spring-y.
ReplyDeleteThese two have the 'tingle' factor! Beautiful colour and shading and composition. For me, these are perfect! Axxx

ReplyDeleteBoth tiles are great. Especially I like Nipa in Joeys tile, it look like little pearls. Have a nice day!
ReplyDeleteWow, I like both, but LOVE the second one!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like your Fassett is floating! That's so well done!
ReplyDeleteLove your Joey tile as well, I'll try and do that challenge later today ;-)
Your Fassett is perfect and gorgeous on the caramelbrown of the tile. The Joey tile also very beautiful!

ReplyDeleteI too have a tendency to work too small with this pattern and will follow your lead in working bigger with it. I love the way you have used white on these pieces to make the light and shade "pop".
ReplyDeleteI put too many auras in my Fassett! But yours is stunning! Lovely work for Joey, too!
ReplyDeleteOh I love your Joey's Challenge one, it is so dramatic with all those teeth lol. Your Fassett is an excellent way of showing it off. I made your earlier mistake of drawing it too small.
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Fassett, Love the rich background color and the shading/highlighting. Your Joey tile is great too.
ReplyDeleteWow, Michele, again both tiles are really fantastic!
ReplyDeleteIn Joeys challenge I love especially the black negative effect of the VII. Very nice!
Oh I LIKE that nippa, spilling over the edges. Excellent work!
ReplyDeleteThese are just wonderful! The first one looks like furniture caning pinned down for repair and the second one is just so Willy Wonka! I hope this comment works because I am trying to fix my no-comment issue!
ReplyDeleteLovely tiles and lovely colours as usual!
ReplyDeleteLove your Fassett - exquisite! 🙏🏽
