Duo-challenge
Happy weekend to you all. It's been a busy week getting ready for the California Artisan Cheese Festival this year. I managed to get the challenges done in little bits and pieces, finishing up the duo-challenge yesterday morning before heading up to Sonoma for the big event.
As some of you may know, who have followed Coffee & Creativity for awhile, I'm a cheese seller at small specialty market.
This was my 2nd year participating in the Ultimate Best Bite Competition. My mission (along with 20 other cheesemongers) was to create 200 bites for festival guests, featuring a cheese that's been assigned to us 2 weeks prior.
Although I didn't win, I had so much amazing feedback from a lot of guests. It was a lot of work and a very long day, but I had a blast. Glad it's over;-)

"I like cheese"
Thanks so much for stopping by! Your thoughtful and generous comments delight and inspire me.
The bites look very tasty and are nice presentated. I'm fond of a little piece of cheese in the evening with a good glass of wine.
ReplyDeleteLovely tanglework, especially your nametile. When I see the pic of Aimée, it looks like she asked you something?
Thank you Ria! I think Aimee was asking for cheese;-)
DeleteMy favorite this week is the duo-challenge, Michele! The tile with your name is very beautiful too. Your presentation of the cheese triangles is very nice. I think they were as tasty as the look like. Did poor Aimee get a little piece of cheese too?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Margarete! Aimee likes to sneak cheese off my plate when I'm not looking;-)
DeleteOh Michele, your name tile looks like a neon sign in Las Vegas! But Mr. and Mrs. Duotile beat it! I have been visiting your blog for a long time and I never knew you sold cheese. Ok, so you didn't win first price, but you won simply by participating and producing 200 (!) bites.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susie! I am a bit amazed that I got both challenges done this week. It's been a little intense and the little windows of drawing was a nice break.
DeleteAll your work is beautiful and the cheese bites looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan!
DeleteMy mouth is watering! What a fantastic recipe, too! Not familiar with Pluvius, but I will definitely keep my eyes open for it. I love the Footlites above your name. You deserve it! Such a star in my book!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jennifer. I was not familiar with Pluvius either. It's from a small dairy in Washington state and not available anywhere here in SF. The homemade cracker was a bit hit;-)
DeleteI didn't know you sold cheese, how cool!! Those bites looks so delicious! And your tiles look wonderful as well, especially the duo challenge. I love how you've combined bales and fescu at the top of the IAST tile, and your string rose is absoluletly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Lisa!
DeleteI love cheese and I do love your work here! Beautiful nametangle for the Diva and great idea to make two challenges in one!
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful post, dear Michele! My favorite of this week is the Duo-Challenge page ... it´s fantastic!
