"Use my Tangle" Monday
featuring After-glo by Carole Ohl
additionally: Aquafleur, Bunzo and Sandswirl
Eco-print tile start
I was happy to see Afterglo turn up on this weeks challenge. It's one of those patterns I thoroughly enjoyed when it first came on my radar awhile ago and then I forgot about it. It's a great fit for my Cosmic Garden series too.
Laura noted that Vonnie, a member of the Zentangle community recently passed away. Vonnie was an active member of one of my swap groups as well as in the Diva's chat room when Laura was live streaming videos of the challenges. This is for Vonnie.
Here are a few things I did in my DIY art journal this past week;
A trip to Japan Town to Maido my favorite pen store
and Daiso for a haul of cheap art supplies
Butternut Squash Soup
Simple Pleasures Cafe
Noodling around and feeling the Zen
Aimee sunnin' herself
Thanks so much for stopping by. Your thoughtful and generous comments delight and inspire me!
I always forget about Afterglo too - and it's a great one for festive but not overtly so tangling!
ReplyDeleteAnd Aimee is making me very jealous, it's getting darker by the day here, easy to forget what sun feels like! (I have pen shop envy too!) It's an ugly emotion, but true!
hahaha...Thanks Jem. I love drawing those final lines through the zigzag.... almost as much as I love a trip to the pen store;-)
DeleteWonderful entry with Afterglo, and nice pictures, especially the one of Aimee, she is a real model in all these different poses. I'm a bit jeaulous too, we have become our first snow and it is pretty cold.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ria! I was very happy to re-connect with Afterglo. It's such a relaxing pattern to draw and so satisfying in the end;-)
DeleteYour DIVA tile in its warm coloring is wonderful. But it stands a little bit in the shadow of your sunning cat Aimee. I like your sketchbook drawings also very much.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Margarete! Aimee loves being the center of attention;-)
DeleteI LOVE Zen Art. Great Post!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Teresa!
DeleteYour Diva tile is beautiful and a great tribute to Vonnie. Cats and sun ..... the best relation there is! Here it is very windy and getting colder by the weekend, maybe even some snow. Snow is not my thing, however beautiful it may be, I don't dare ride my bicycle of it's slippery and I haven't got a drivers license. Yes, I'm one of the last without one.
ReplyDeleteThank you Annemarie! This is my favorite weather, sunny skies and cool temperatures. It's a pretty typical San Francisco Winter day. I'm very fortunate;-)
DeleteOhhh! That pen store! I would be in so much trouble! Beautiful work, all of it! I wish I could be Aimee and sun myself in the window. Could use a bit of relaxing time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate! Yes, that pen store is insane and that photo only shows part of it. The high end fountain pens and all of the gorgeous bottles of Japanese inks are what I have to refrain from, for now:-)
DeleteOh, Michele ~ your Diva challenge is beautiful. And so is Aimee!
ReplyDeleteThank you Roseanne 😉
DeleteSuch a lovely use for an eco-print tile! And such a lot of comments about darkness and the sun. Aimee is wonderful, of course, and I wish I could send you all some of Nicaragua's tropical sun. Now in the dry season, sun is all we have, all day every day. Not a complaint, but I'd pass it around if I could!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Pat😺
DeleteBeautiful work, Michele!
ReplyDeleteI love your Afterglo with the Aquafleur... lovely! They compliment each other nicely.
Aimee is so pretty! Reminds me a bit of our new kitten, Luna. A stripey goddess!
Thanks Sidney! Aimee is definitely a little goddess 🐾😺
DeleteLoving your afterglow tile, it's warm even with that cool night sky! Cute cat, I'd be happy laying there in the sun too!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Shelly😉
DeleteYour tile with Afterglo is just gorgeous! A little piece of art!
ReplyDeleteI like your sketches and your cute cat, too.
What a stunning afterglow tile!
ReplyDeletePurely Eye candy!
