There are two things that vex me in my pursuit of Zentangle Zen. Hearts and Monotangles.
Laura, our Diva is taking the Summer off to enjoy family time and we'll be treated to some challenge fun by a series of guest bloggers for the next couple of months. Jessica challenges us with hearts (the monotangle angle is my own). Her hearts are Fab (click the above link to see her awesomeness) .
I'm not a "hearts and flowers" type and always dread the dreaded heart/valentine inspired challenges that come around once a year. But, I always try to be a good sport and I thought I'd mash this up with my self-challenge to do monotangles. Besides, a heart is just a string, right?
Now, speaking of guest bloggers, I made my guest blogger debut at this week's Made by Joey's Weekly Challenge. You can see the challenge here, and if you haven't participated, I'd be delighted if you did. Within that post I touched upon on what I'm calling 20 Monotangles, inspired by my concept of mastering my Top 20 Patterns.
Last week, I made my first attempt at Eco-printing on watercolor paper and here are some pieces I created this week:
4 "x 6" ZIA
on eco-printed paper
more eco-print paper inspiration
5"x 7" Zia
Aimee sez: "Put that sticky down and rub my head!"
Thanks for stopping by! Your thoughtful and generous comments delight and inspire me;-)
You got it, Michele -- a heart is just a string. And yours is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along this week! <3
Thanks Jess! It was a great challenge π
DeleteDear Michele, just sitting late evening in front of the balcony (with open doors) and watching a thunderstorm... very romantic, indeed... And looking at the challenges... your Heart tile is very artistic!! Love it!! And I smiled, because my thoughts were similar.. hearts again?? ... you are right, I enjoyed it as well.
ReplyDeleteI will have a look at your guest post and try to contribute! Hugs, Simone
Thank you Simone. Your evening sounds lovely π
DeleteFirst: your heart-tangling is delightful! Second: Love what you did as guestblogger!
ReplyDeleteThird: your journal looks great! Thank's for sharing!
Many thanks for your kind words Anitaπ
DeleteI love that Tippled heart!
ReplyDeleteThank you Annemarie!
DeleteYour ongoing eco tiles are stunning. Really - I can't get my head around how beautiful the effect of the tile and tangling are.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jem! I'm having fun with the eco-dyed papers experimenting with different colors. I mostly use color in my paper but for line-work I use 3 colors tops so it's a little out of my comfort zone π
DeleteGorgeous tiles. Good idea to just think of a heart as a string.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jean!
DeleteI just love visiting your website Michele! I'm always so excited when I see your email in my inbox! Such beautiful treasures to delight me!! (Not to mention how much I love seeing what Aimee is up to!)
ReplyDeleteYour eco tiles are FABULOUS!! I'm going to inspect and enjoy every inch!! And one day.... I will try that technique!!
I LOVE your tangled heart!!... I know your "opposed" to doing them. Love the colours and the texture... It looks as though it would be rough and pebbly to the touch.
Thank you Denise! I truly appreciate your kind words π This eco-dyeing technique is really simple and such a treat to do. I recommend trying it sooner rather than laterπ
DeleteWow. You had a very productive week. Even if you dislike hearts, you did this one proud. I love the depth you achieved. And, if someone doesn't want it to be a heart, they can almost make a case for it being something else. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Suzanne!
DeleteYou really mastered the eco-print-paper technique. I love all your tiles but for this week, the second one on this eco-print-paper is my absolute favorite.
ReplyDeleteI think it is very relaxing, drawing and always having a sweet, soft friend beside you.
Thank you Ria! I'm a lot more excited about the eco-dyed papers than my fluffy assistant ππΌπΎ
DeleteAs every week, your tiles astound me. However, sometimes there is that one tangle that strikes a cord in me. This time there are 2: 1st tile maple leaf with circles inside and out; and 2nd tile the flower in your bottom half just above the horizontal leaf. Fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry, 1st and 2nd after the heart tile.
DeleteMany thanks Susie! This eco-dyeing has opened up a whole new obsession π
DeleteLovely work as usual Michele and Aimee somehow just doesn't seem to appreciate it? Hard to believe!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Trudiπ
