DuoTangle: Drupe & Pokeroot
The challenge is to use only two patterns and as many variations (tangleations) of said 2 patterns as one can reasonably incorporate. This is my attempt at morphing patterns. I'm trying to teach myself some new tricks. I used a watercolor tile I made a few months ago for a St. Patrick's Day challenge somewhere. It's not in my normal color palette and it got a little murky in the shading zone but... it is what it is;-)

Adele Bruno's "It's a String Thing" Challenge #144
patterns: 4MOM and Hollyhock
Adele created a cursive M string for this belated Mother's Day themed challenge. I tweaked the string a tiny bit and used a handmade "Renaissance" tile. "Hollyhock" was recently published on Tangle Patterns. I love it!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Your thoughtful and generous comments inspire and delight me;-)
Lovely tiles each done in a different colour range :-) I too am trying to get to grips with morphing, you seem to be doing pretty well so far.
ReplyDeleteI like your "morphingtile" very much: the colour is amazing, the shadows and the highlights make this tile very special and give it your personal touch.
ReplyDeleteThe "Batumbertile" is also a real beauty!!!
Your Diva tile: I LOVE IT!!! :-) Not just because of the composition of your DuoTangle, but also because of those beautiful colours. It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour Diva challenge poke roots look like sea glass. So nicely done!
ReplyDeleteLovely tiles! I like the one that "is what it is"
ReplyDeleteI like all your tiles. The coloured Diva tile is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful. i like these colors !
ReplyDeleteGreat job on all your tiles! Love the turquoise blue used in the Diva challenge, definitely reminds me of the sea!! Really pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove your method of color/shading/highlighting, it gives all your tiles such life. The green Diva tile is beautiful, love the color palette. :D
ReplyDeleteIt's always such a pleasure to visit your blog; I love your style. So this week is great again!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love the murkiness of your first tile. It looks like something you'd see deep underwater, including the patterns and shapes on your tile.
ReplyDeleteOh, I knew you'd find an uber cool way to do Knightsbridge, and I wasn't disappointed! the way you've highlighted it to look like tiles, and the colors (of course) And the duotangle with the lines of drupe weaving in and out of the stems of pokeroot...not to mention the colors. (of course hahaha) Love it!
ReplyDelete"Morphing" is a new Zentangle term for me. I'll have to research it when it's not 3:39 a.m. and I'm in bed not sleeping. Your St. Patrick'S tile makes a great base for your Drupe and Poke Root duotangle. Because of the colors, it almost feels like an underwater scene.
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzanne. Morphing isn't a Zentangle term (I don't think). I use it to describe my attempt at a more seamless transition from one pattern to another;-)
